South American Rivals face off in the semi finals of the Confederations cup.

This could better be renamed the Neymar vs. Louis Suarez. These two players have been very influential.

To their national terms and club sides. With Neymar making the best of the confederations cup to show his potentials to the world before he goes over to Camp Nou to begin what I think is going to be very beautiful and lucrative career .

Unlike Neymar, Louis Suarez has not had a nice tournament thus far apart from a super free kick he took against the La Roja. He has been relatively calm compare to his former self when he is playing for his club side just a few months ago before Louis’s ugly incident with Ivanovic of Chelsea fc.

With the quality of players in both sides the game is going to be one of those games you wish you can see all the time but then we do not get what we always wish for. Do we?  As for record, the selecao has won the last two meetings with a 4-0 thumping in June 2009.

Think of this Luiz Felipe Scolari first ever match in charge of the selecao in July 2001 ended with a defeat to the Uruguay. This must be his avenue to pay back the Uruguayans for the favour.

 In playing against a team with super talents like Edison Calvani, Diego Forlan and Louis Suarez is going to be very challenging for a side that have very quick and attack minded defenders like David Louis ,mecelo,Danny Alvs of  the Selecao. Who would rather attack than defend for all I can tell you they are going to face a test of character and understanding.

Not only does the Celeste have to contend with the abilities of Neymar, they also have to watch out for the side backs that seem to only attack rather than defend. Coach Oscar Tabarez is going to ask a lot of his defence and mid field to make sure that all the selecao  attack plans can be covered.

The match is going to be very interesting technically and physically. It would be the kind of football match that technicians and students of the great game would do anything to see.

There would be goals but very technical and intelligent game plays.
